Rosatom state atomic energy corporaton, the ministry of construction, housing and utilities, and the government of the republic of tatarstan will cooperate in conduction of the world construction championship

On 16th of June, 2022, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, general director of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation (Mr. Alexey Likhachev), the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Mr. Irek Faizullin), and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan (Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov) have signed the agreement on organization and conduction of the World Construction Championship-2022.

The World Construction Championship (WCC) has been conducting since 2021; and it is intended to expand economic integration of Russia’s construction business to overseas and to resolve import substitution issues. This year the Championship will take place from 5th till 8th of October in the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”.

The World Construction Championship will involve three areas: professional constructors’ competitions, interactive exhibition, and business program. The members will compete within 20 individual and team nominations. Championship nominations involve industrial construction, industrial design, and construction sites’ management. This year will be the first one when the overall standings will involve the Student League comprising those students studying in specialized Russia’s construction universities and colleges. The prize fund of the competition will amount to over 44 million rubles.

In Mr. Irek Faizullin’s opinion, the event is highly demanded among not only large Russia’s companies, but also among foreign partners. “Development of human resources is industry’s key goal; while new standards referring to working professions always set rapid technical advance. The World Construction Championship acts as a consolidated mechanism to improve the competence level. On one side, it allows specialists demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and professionalism. On the other side, it allows developing them due watching the experience of their colleagues.” Said the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, Mr. Irek Faizulling, during the ceremony of signing of the agreement.

According to speakers’ statements, the Republic of Tatarstan will act as a co-organizer of the event and will take part in arrangement of the Championship along with the partners. Apart from that, the Championship’s program implies making the guests and members familiar with the culture and economic potential of the region.

“The Republic of Tatarstan is one of stable leaders in the sphere of industrial construction. There are over 400 enterprises in the Republic dealing with implementation of construction projects. During the last 10 years there have been 160 companies modernized and incorporated; many of them of the international level. Conduction of the World Construction Championship will allow knowing new technologies and competences, as well as finding the best ones within this sphere.”

It is worth reminding that the World Construction Championship was established in February of 2020 by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation and State Atomic Energy Corporation. The original event took place in April of 2021 in Sochi, Russia. The title of winners had become a desired prize for around 500 professional constructors from Russia, Qazaqstan, the Republic of Belarus, Egypt, and Turkey.
