On 16th of June, 2022, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, general director of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation (Mr. Alexey Likhachev), the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Mr. Irek Faizullin), and general director of Gazprom Invest, LLC (Mr. Vyatcheslav Tyurin) have signed the agreement on organization and conduction of the World Construction Championship-2022. As said in the document, Gazprom, PJSC will become the co-organizer of the Championship and will take part in the arrangements committee along with the partners.
Gazprom, PJSC will be represented by Gazprom Invest, LLC being the integrated technical client that deals with construction sites and investment forecasting block of the company. Gazprom Invest, LLC is also the center of competences within industrial construction and project management in Gazprom, PJSC.
The World Construction Championship (WCC) is intended to expand economic integration of Russia’s construction business to overseas and to resolve import substitution issues. This year the Championship will take place from 5th till 8th of October in the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”.
The members will compete within 20 individual and team nominations. Championship nominations involve industrial construction, industrial design, and construction sites’ management. This year will be the first one when the overall standings will involve the Student League comprising those students studying in specialized Russia’s construction universities and colleges. The prize fund of the competition will amount to over 44 million rubles.
Apart from the professional construction competitions, the venue will place multimedia exhibition and business program. The Championship welcomes foreign members from 23 countries: BRICS countries, EAEU, CIS, Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh, UAE, Hungary, Iran, Serbia, and Israel.

It is worth reminding that the World Construction Championship was established in February of 2020 by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation and State Atomic Energy Corporation. The original event took place in April of 2021 in Sochi, Russia. The title of winners had become a desired prize for around 500 professional constructors from Russia, Qazaqstan, the Republic of Belarus, Egypt, and Turkey.
