The period from 5th till 8th of October will mark the World Construction Championship II that will be held in Kazan. The event is organized by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation; Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation; the President’s platform named “Russia, the Opportunity Country”; Gazprom Invest, LLC; and the Republic of Tatarstan.
“The World Construction Championship is a perspective platform intended for representation of Russia’s construction industry on the global scene as of the one of the construction leaders. Russia’s companies actively develop construction technologies and make researches of new materials. Apart from that, this event is purposed to unite the representatives of different countries in order to expand international cooperation, establish long-term relations with partners, and arrange effective industrial cooperation.”
The World Construction Championship II will demonstrate competitions among the specialists dealing with industrial construction: these are companies’ representatives, individual competitors, and Student League members studying in specialized universities and colleges. Participants will be offered with 20 individual and team nominations divided into 3 categories (industrial construction, industrial design, and construction project management).
On 5th of October the World Construction Championship II will be officially opened.
On 6th and 7th of October there will be opened the business program of the Championship. It will allow discussing the questions related to solution of strategic issues of industrial construction in Russia and overseas.
The business program of the World Construction Championship will start with discussion dedicated to modern times and challenges. Discussion will be conducted within the session named “Construction Industry: scenarios and actual forecasts for the future”. Construction refers to one of the most important spheres of the economy; it influences the dynamics of country’s development and provides jobs to millions of citizens. It also directly contributes into arrangement of comfortable living conditions. This perspective will underlay the discussion of new reality and provision of economic, logistic, and technologic independence of the country. The discussion will involve the following speakers:
- The First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Mr. Alexander Lomakin);
- Russia’s politician, State Duma Deputy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (VIII convocation; “United Russia” party) and President of “Russia’s Student Teams” organization (Mr. Mikhail Kiselev);
- General director of “Russia, the Opportunity Country”, ANCO (Mr. Alexey Komissarov);
- The President of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) (Mr. Pavel Akimov);
- The President of the National Association of Surveyors and Designers (NOPRIZ) (Mr. Mikhail Posokhin);
- The President of the NOSTROY National Constructors’ Association (Mr. Anton Glushkov), etc.
The international cooperation will be on the agenda among the questions of the single construction service market to be arranged within the EAEU countries, as well as the questions of technical regulations, establishment of the Eurasian Federation of Structural Engineers (EFSE), and realization of its ideas, the role of Russia’s industrial sector in technical construction regulating, arrangement of the shared regulatory environment within the CIS countries, investment and construction business, freedom of movement of building resources, and coordination of construction digitalization within the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
The problems of Russia as being the leading construction country will be discussed in the section of development of industrial spheres related to the sanctions imposed by the unfriendly countries. Discussion will also refer to identification of the main lines of import substitution within building materials, development of the ideas on state support of building industry, and reduction of negative effects caused by latest limitations.
The construction industry’s challenges, the role of the government and business in ensuring the high-quality training of young specialists, and current mechanisms of interaction of the markets of labor and education are included in the key agenda of the section dedicated to education and human resources. On 6th of October there will be official opening of the Center of Competence of the Construction Industry, Housing, and Utilities supported by the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering with signing of the agreement between “Russia, the Opportunity Country”, Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization (ANCO) and the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (National Research University). On 7th of October there will be conducted the event named “The Mechanisms to Overcome the Shortage of Qualified Human Resources in Russia’s Construction Sector” intended for discussion of the situation related with the construction labor market, arrangement of professional working resources pool, the mechanisms of adaptation of vocational secondary education programs required for regional industry needs, and other questions. The discussion will involve Mr. Ivan Shulyupin, the head of the development department in “Russia, the Opportunity Country”, (ANCO).
The direction titled “Industrial Technologies” is intended for discussion of Russia’s solutions related to the stages of construction and operation, as well as common data environment (BIM models), energy saving improvement program state, polymer usage solutions, excessive regulatory burdens, and other ones.
Technical regulations, improvement of the construction normative framework, modern standards and practices to increase safety and to arrange better labor security, as well as integration of the mandatory evaluation of foreign labor resources will be in the agenda for the discussion related to the professional expertise.
The plenary session titled “The Construction Industry as Russia’s Economy Driver” will close the business program of the World Construction Championship II. During this session there will be discussed certain strategies of regional development, advanced development challenges within the industrial infrastructure, and initiatives proposed by Championship participants aimed to support and development of the industry in the conditions of sanctions and other restrictions.
Also, the business program of the World Construction Championship will include the Lecture Course presented by the following guest speakers: Fyodor Konyukhov (the famous traveler, writer, and painter), Alexander Misurkin (the Hero of the Russian Federation, research astronaut having visited the International Space Station for three times), and Vladislav Tretyak (the Soviet hockey player, Merited Master of Sport of the USSR, and the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation).
Special guests will raise the topics of ecological thinking, self-cognition, learning the world, qualifications required by aeronauts (and their usage in real life), aerospace construction, working in the human-hostile environment, self-motivation, and arrangement of a team under conditions of competition and confrontation.
The ceremony of official closing of the World Construction Championship II will take place on 8th of October. There will be awarding of winners, reviewing of progress, and announcing of future plans.
