Global trends in urban space and public amenities within the concept named “achitecture of health” will be presented in kazan

7th of October will become the date of conduction of the XIV International scientific and practical conference named “The Architecture of Health” (MES - Modern Engineering Systems & Architecture of Health-2022). The conference will take place at the World Construction Championship II within “Kazan Expo” international exhibition center.

MES-2022 business program will include panel discussions with industry leaders, reports prepared by leading Russia’s and foreign architect bureaus, and presentations of cases related to the architecture of health concept.

Modern structure changes in healthcare industry require new perspective approaches to design and operation of public infrastructure and medical institutions. They are aimed to preserving and strengthening of physical and mental health of citizens, and uniting of healthcare facilities with new forms of living space, city infrastructure, and new objects related to disease prevention.

Combination of such approaches means appearance of a conceptual complex infrastructure of architecture of health that is totally new for Russia’s professional community. This concept is based on the cross-discipline narratives engaging specialists dealing with architecture, construction, healthcare, urban planning, social science, psychology, etc.

The Minister of Construction, Housing, and Utilities of the Russian Federation, Mr. Irek Faizullin has commented on that.

“Reliable healthcare system and high-tech medical institutions are the necessary parts of modern social infrastructure and the most important lines to be developed in Russia’s regions to provide comfort conditions and good living standards. All there goals settle the vector in the construction industry as well. Meanwhile, modern architectural and structural solutions of the present time expand the opportunities and create brand new approaches to construction with regard to both optimization of the construction process and provision of convenient conditions to our citizens. Best practices, experience, and developments of the specialists play special role. For this reason, conduction of the conference named “Architecture of Health” within the World Construction Championship is intended to have the synergetic effect and become the source of innovative ideas related to both healthcare and construction.”

The concept of “Architecture of Health” implies the harmony of the following parts: architectural appearance, volumetric and spatial compositions, nice design, internal climate, and utility systems.

As per conducted studies, convergence of these parts has integrated effect over people by positive impact on their health and lives.

Ms. Talia Minullina, the head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency has certain opinion on this topic.

“MES-2022 concept will allow the participants learning the experience related to arrangement of healthy urban environment and integrating it with social facilities, in particular: healthcare institutions. There will be studied new types of medical institutions and the questions of development of the correspondent building regulations. Case presentations will tell more about planned and finished solutions related to architecture, engineering, and logistics in medical clusters, diagnostic/ treatment centers, and perinatal institutions.”

The Forum will involve government officials, representatives of leading Russia’s and foreign architect bureaus, and medical centers’ heads. It is expected that the Forum will be visited by the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation (Mr. Irek Faizullin); the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation (Mr. Mikhail Murashko), and the head of Moscow’s construction department (Mr. Rafik Zagrutdinov). Among the speakers there will be founders of Orchestra architect bureau (Mr. Eduard Morro, France) and CRAFT Architects company (Mr. Alan Rakhman, Mexico); deputy head of Moscow’s healthcare department (Mr. Andrey Starshinin); and chief architect of Kazan (Ms. Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina).

Plenary meetings and specialized sessions will be moderated by the Chairman of the Committee on non-atomic projects within healthcare industry in the ACCNI (Association of Organizations of the Construction Complex of the Nuclear Industry) (Mr. Sergey Furmanchuk) and the head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (Ms. Talia Minullina).

The conference is wished to end with scaling up of successful experience of the Republic of Tatarstan in creation of the “Healthy Environment” over other regions of the Russian Federation.

The event is organized by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation; the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency; the Trans-regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center (TDTC); and the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering.
